GB Trials

NUBC sent down 12 athletes to Boston last weekend for the U23 Trials.
On the Saturday over half of the men and women PBed in their 2k, with Izzy Lack coming 15th out of the U23 and Rachel Bradley coming 8th out of the U20; Tom Brumwell came 8th and Sam O’Connor came 13th out of the U20.
The Sunday saw the water 5k time trial. In the Women’s squad, Aoife Chapman and Emily Strange trialled in a 2-, coming 21st overall and were the 4th fastest U21 crew. Rachel continued her success, being the fastest U21 single, coming 10th overall, with Izzy coming 9th out of the U23, 18th overall, and Julia Gledson, unexpectedly trialling in her single last minute, coming 23rd and Karrie Spencer coming 24th.
Also, huge congratulations to NUBC Alumni Lola Anderson, who’s continuing her winning streak by taking the W in her single!
In the Men’s squad, George Thomson and Tom Symington, in their 2-, came 20th overall and were the 3rd fastest full U21 crew. Tom Brumwell and Ben Brockway came 27th and were the 9th fastest full U21 crew. Then, in their singles, Joe Adamson coming off of a strong 2k, was 13th and 3rd fastest U23 and Same was 31st, 7th fastest U21.
We’re incredibly proud of how well everyone performed, especially this year’s freshers for performing so well this early on in the season.
This season is proving to be an exciting one for NUBC.
