Henley Royal Regatta

Last week NUBC took on Henley Royal Regatta, out of our 7 boats we qualified 4.

These boats were entered in The Island Challenge Cup, The Temple Challenge Cup and The Prince Albert Challenge Cup.

The Temple Challenge Cup:

Temple A was one of our pre-qualified boats and was unfortunately our first boat to be knocked out on Tuesday after a fantastic race against Princeton University B.

The Island Challenge Cup:

All three of our Island 8’s had to go to Qualifiers and we were lucky to qualify both Island A and B. Island B were beaten by Nottingham on Wednesday and Island A made it through to Friday after beating Princeton and R.S.V.U Okeanos. They then sadly lost to Durham University on Friday.  

The Prince Albert Challenge Cup:

Our PA 4+ had a tough draw, racing the eventual winners of the event, Oxford Brookes, in their first heat.

We also had two current students in GB composites, Rachel beat Nottinghamshire on Thursday but then went on to face the GB senior quad and  lost in the Princess Grace Challenge Cup.

Sam also faced the winners of his event in the first round, putting up a good fight but loosing to Oxford Brookes in the Ladies Challenge Plate.
