Our four athletes return to Newburn with two silver medals at the U23 World Championships.

Ryan Ballantine took silver in the Lightweight Men’s Quad for Ireland in what was the first of two silver medals for Newcastle athletes in Poznan.  After winning the repechage, Ryan and his crew put together a world-class performance to finish runners-up to Italy.
Will Stewart continued the silver run as he finished second in the Men’s Eight.  Great Britain stormed to victory in their repechage after a close second place in their heat.  They held on to beat Romania into 3rd place by half a bowball.

Dom Jackson & James Stevenson placed 3rd in the B Final and 9th overall in the Lightweight Men’s Quad after well fought three races.

Congratulations must also go to coach, Ciro Prisco who took charge of the Lightweight quad shortly before Met Regatta.
