Following on from their racing at the U23 World Championships, Dom Jackson and James Stevenson were named as the Lightweight Double for the U23 European Championships in Brest, Belarus.

The pair of them placed second in their heat and then went on to replicate this performance in the repechage to secure a place in the final.  After an incredibly close race, the boys were just edged into 4th by the fast finishing Austrian crew.

Newcastle University will also have representation at the Senior World Championships in Poznan, Poland with current student, Ryan Ballantine in the Irish Men’s Lightweight Quad.  Alumni Tom Ford and James Rudkin will race in the Men’s 4- and 8+ respectively while Gemma Hall and Emily Ford will be in the Lightweight Women’s Quad and Women’s Spare respectively.  Racing starts on the 9th of September.
