Tyne United New Year’s Head

It was good to be back out racing yesterday, kick starting the beginning of our 2022 season coming off of some tough few weeks of training and a brief Christmas Break. All crews performed well for this early on in the season, with our aim to just get everyone racing and ready for the upcoming season.

DIVISION 1

For division one, the women raced in small boats and the men in their 8s.
Special mention goes to Izzy Lack for taking the win in her single, followed shortly by Rachel Bradley; good preparation for February trials which are coming up in the next few weeks.

DIVISION 2

The women only partook in division one, but the men moved from the eights into their small boats for division 2

All crews performed well, but especially our Men’s 4+ (Sam Shuker, Ed Sanderson, Hal Flowerdew, Elliot Millman and George Prior) for taking the win (b1), and Sam O’Connor for taking the win in his single.

With the season well and truly started, the next few weeks will see the squads seat racing and prepping for the postponed Rutherford Head, and BUCS Head, where we will be looking to retain our VL from 2019.
