Last Saturday saw NUBC take on Durham University Boat Club in the annual Boat Race of the North which took place on the Newcastle Quayside.

The day’s events started with coin tosses to determine racing stations, where Durham won 5/6.

Women’s 3rd VII : Won

Men’s 3rd VII: Won

Women’s 2nd VII: Won

Men’s 2nd VII: Won

Women’s 1st VII: Won

Men’s 1st VII: Lost

These results culminated in a 5-1 victory to Newcastle in which the club overturned the BUCS regatta VL winners from the previous week. The club hopes to build on these strong results and carry them forward to HWR and HRR.

The overall win of the BROTN now marks the 15th year in a row that NUBC have retained the boat race, marking the clubs dominance on the Tyne for yet another year.
